Taxonomy is how you can see how closely related or distinct two organisms are from each other. There is a hierarchy that describes this, in order from broad to narrow it's:
Domain, Kingdom, Phylum, Class, Order, Family, Genus, and Species

Therefore, following the hierarchy, you can NOT be in two different classes but the same family since Class comes before Family.
