Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration are both biological processes. One is the reverse of the other.

Photosynthesis is an anabolic process while cellular respiration is a catabolic process. It implies that photosynthesis synthesis food by capturing energy while cellular respiration breaks down food and releases energy for cellular activities.

The two processes are important to keep each other going.

Plants release oxygen which is a by-product of photosynthesis, and we breathe in oxygen so that our cells can carry out cellular respiration and generate ATP.

Photosynthesis uses light energy, carbon dioxide and gives off glucose, water, and oxygen as by-product while cellular respiration uses water and glucose, and gives off carbon dioxide, water and energy as by-products.

While photosynthesis occur in green plants in the presence of light, cellular respiration occurs at all times.
