Snake Island is located approximately 21 miles off of the coast of Brazil. Evidence suggests that the mainland of Brazil and the island of Ilha da Queimada Grande were
connected as recently as 11,000 years ago before sea levels rose separating the two.
A particular genus of snake is found on both the mainland (Brazil) as well as the
island. The island species of the snake is calculated to be about 5x's more venomous
than his mainland relative. Describe the process that would have resulted in this
