Sometimes in this practice, along with targeted species some unwanted species like old coral species get entrapped which are very essential for the marine ecosystem . Not only corals,  all living beings coming in way of net are destroyed thereby leading to habitat destruction which lead to the permanent marine ecosystem damage.
