Describe the process of scientific inquiry and explain why it is not a rigid sequence of steps

Scientific inquiry can be described as a series of questions for a student to ask themselves about things like their experiment data, as well as giving students a way of organizing and classifying part to their experiment, like independent and dependent variables. It is not a "rigid" sequence of events and more like a bunch of ways to organize your data and keep things separate.  (hope that helped in any way although I started to sound a bit like a broken record :P)
