Describe the effects that enzymes can have on substrates

The effect of enzyme on substrate depends o the concentration of substrate and it affects the rate of reaction.

Explanation:

If the concentration of the substrate is low in a mixture, then substrates will bind to enzyme which will slow the rate of reaction. But if the concentration of the substrate is increased, then there will be more substrate for enzymes to work on and the rate of reaction will be increased.

There is a point upto which the enzymes will be involved in catalyzing action. When that threshold point is reached the increase in concentration of substrate will no longer increase the rate of reaction instead the rate if reaction will be uniform.
