Why do genes only make up a small percentage of DNA?
We only use a small portion of DNA, because there aren't that many unique proteins.
It reduces the chances of genes being damaged.
It prevents cells from accidentally making the wrong protein.
The extra DNA will eventually be turned into genes as organisms evolve.
