In ruminants, horns and antlers are controlled by a gene that occurs in two principle allelic forms. Allele Hn determines no horn and allele Hh determines horn. The interaction of these two alleles in the heterozygote condition is of special interest because in the presence of male hormone, allele Hh is dominant over allele Hn, whereas in the absence of male hormone, allele Hn is dominant over Hh. If a male and female kudu, both with genotype HnHh, have many calves, approximately what percentage of horned females would be expected?
