Balance a ration for a 650 lb. calf, on a dry matter basis, that requires 1.75 lbs of CP and 9.5 lbs of TDN. The Dry Matter Intake is expected to be about 15 lbs (so don't feed more). Feed 1% of the animals body weight as hay (DRY MATTER), and use corn and soybean meal to meet the remaining needs (if any). Use corn: 10% CP 90 %TDN 88% DM

Hay 13% CP 55% TDN 84% DM

SBM 50% CP 88% TDN 90% DM

Required:

a. Calculate the dry matter composition of the daily ration.

b. What if I fed just 0.5% of the calf's body weight as forage (DM basis)?

c. What if I fed 1.5% of the calf's body weight as forage (DM basis)?
