Proteins are formed from long chains of amino acids, and one distinguishing characteristic of amino acids is that all of them contain a nitrogen atom. When human bodies process proteins, our bodies sometimes completely dismantle the protein to its constituents. How are the nitrogen atoms from proteins removed from our bodies?
