You’ve recently heard about a research lab that sells rats to other institutions. They’ve been able to genetically engineer 2 different strains of rats. Rats in one strain are born without an amygdala. Rats from the other strain have an enlarged, overly-active amygdala. You order some rats from each strain for your lab in order to see how they behave. First, in your own words, state what the amygdala does.

Next, come up with a situation you could put your rats in (that’s different than the ones mentioned in the online lectures), and outline at least one behavior you would expect to be different from the “no amygdala” rats compared with normal, unaltered rats, and at least one behavior you would expect to be different from the “overly-active amygdala” rats compared with normal, unaltered rats
