Essay: Read my paragraph and tell me if it is good. Use what you have learned about asexual and sexual reproduction from this modeling activity to explain why asexual reproduction produces offspring that are identical to the originals, and sexual reproduction produces offspring that are unique from their originals. Be sure your essay is at least one paragraph long, but you are welcome to write more. Be specific in your response by referencing chromosomes and cell phases to support your explanation. You may look back at your summary questions to help you complete this essay.

MY PARAGRAPH:

Roughly 3.7 billion years ago, the first evidence of life formed. Though it was a tiny microbe, it was the start of all life. This tiny microbe led to the arising of all life, such as the feared dinosaurs, mysterious shark, innovative humans, and all other creatures. If this one microbe did not reproduce, dinosaurs would be myth, sharks would be a fantasy, and you would not be reading this passage right now. Because the first lifeform was a microbe, it would have reproduced via asexual reproduction. This would indicate that the offspring of this microbe would be identical to that of itself. First, the microbe would copy its DNA. Copying the DNA means that the offspring will be indistinguishable from the parent cell. The rest of the reproduction process involves the preparation for cytokinesis, the splitting of the parent cell. In the end, there are two cells, both from the same cell, the microbe.
