Suggest why the blood flows through many channels in the dialysis unit, rather than through a single large channel

Blood travels through many different channels to optimize absorption. The water potential in the solution in the dialysis machine will need to be less than in the blood. If all the blood flows through a single large channel the blood water potential may be more negative than outside, therefore slowing absorption.
