Nucleic acids are one of the organic macromolecules (Other than carbohydrates, Lipids and proteins).  Major nucleic acids include DNA and RNA. One of the unique properties of nucleic acids, is it's ability to carry information. This information play an important role in Genetics. Information is stored and transmitted using segments in DNA called "Genes".
