In the oesophagus, the muscles contracts and relaxes to push the chewed food into the stomach.

The movement of the chewed food from the oesophagus into the stomach is known as

peristalsis.

In the stomach, the digestion of protein begins in there.

Hydrochloric acid is produced to kill the bacteria present in the food.

In the small intestine,the intestinal juice enhances the digestion process,hence digestion ends in the small intestine
