Biology students performed an experiment to determine the effect of light on the rate of photosynthesis. They chose pondweed, a photosynthetic water plant, and put it in a transparent beaker. They then positioned a desk lamp 10 cm away from the beaker, turned on the light and began to observe the beaker and count the number of bubbles that were produced. After ten minutes, they moved the lamp back 10 cm at a time until they had reached a distance of 50 cm. Use this information and Figure 2 to answer the questions below.
