Why should care be exercised in handling concentrated acids?

Concentrated acids should be handled with extreme care since they are ultimately corrosive. They emit acidic mists that are harmful. If the acid comes into contact with your skin, eyes or even internal organs, the damage can be very serious that it can even lead to death. Therefore, there is a need to use protective equipment when dealing with these chemicals.
