When a patient arrives in the emergency room, he is restless and irritable with unlimited energy and a rapid rate of speech. the attending psychiatrist believes the patient has taken cocaine or amphetamines and admits him for observation. the next day, the symptoms are the same. what condition with symptoms that are similar to those associated with amphetamine use might the psychiatrist now consider as a condition that is relevant to the diagnosis?

The condition is called mania, it is also known as manic syndrome. Is a state of abnormally elevated arousal, affect, and energy level, or "a state of heightened overall activation with enhanced affective expression together with liability of affection? Indeed, as the mania intensifies, irritability can be more pronounced and result in violence, or anxiety.

when you breathe in, or inhale, your diaphragm contracts (tightens) and moves downward. this increases the space in your chest cavity, into which your lungs expand. the intercostal muscles between your ribs also enlarge the chest cavity. they contract to pull your rib cage both upward and outward when you inhale.
