Schizophrenia has both positive symptoms (added) and negative symptoms (lack of). Positive symptoms include hallucinations (adding unreal imagery) and uncontrollable thoughts. Negative symptoms include apathy (lack of concern or enthusiasm), alogia (lack of speech), and blunted affect (lack of facial expression).
