1. Plant three of the same plant in the same conditions (ex: pot, soil, water levels, seed).
2. Label them (ex: plant a, plant b, plant c).
3. Put one of your plants in a dark closet.
4. Put another one of your plants in a place where it occasionally gets light, maybe somewhere in the center of a room a fair distance from a window.
5. Put your last plant where it will be supplied with plenty of light, preferably within your house right beneath or in front of a large window.
6. As the days pass, continue to water and treat each plant the same. Record the growth of each plant.
7. After a week of doing the same thing, look over your data and understand which plant has grown and which plant has not.

Result: The plant put in the closet should have died due to lack of light, proving light to be a significant aspect in plant growth. The plant put in minimal lighting should have failed to grow or seems to be struggling to grow, proving just how important sunlight is to a plant. The plant in front of a window should have started sprouting and shows signs of growing excellently.
