Summarize how energy flows from sunlight to atp and how matter cycles between photosynthesis and cell respiration.

During the process of photosynthesis, the plant use energy from the sun to synthesize nutrients from water and carbon dioxide. Thus, the process of energy transformation occurred when light from the sun is converted into chemical form of energy known as nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH).  In plant cell, ATP and NADPH is used to assemble carbon dioxide molecules and other carbon chain into glucose which then linked together to form cellulose used by the plant to grow new stems and leaves. However, cellular respiration is the process where the body converts the energy stored in food into form of energy that body can use.

In conclusion, during the process of photosynthesis, carbon dioxide is pulled out from the atmosphere while carbon dioxide is released into the environment during the process of cellular respiration.
