The coat of gases that surrounds the earth is known as atmosphere. There are diverse layers of atmosphere. From the ground level, the layers are:

• Troposphere

• Stratosphere

• Mesosphere

• Thermosphere

The gases which are involved in the absorption of the sun’s radiations are, carbon dioxide and ozone. The troposphere is the lowest layer of the atmosphere. This layer is the adjoining layer to the earth’s exterior. It ranges up to 10kms above the sea level. The occurrence of most clouds happens to be in this layer of the atmosphere. With the increase in height, the air pressure and temperature decline rapidly.

The stratosphere is second layer which ranges to about 50kms above the ground. Presence of ozone layer is the characteristic feature of this layer. Ozone molecules absorb UV light from sun. Here, the temperature upsurges with the upsurge in height. The third layer of atmosphere from the ground which ranges rising to 85kms above the earth is the mesosphere. Burning up of meteors is the characteristic feature of this layer. The temperature declines with the rise in height. The pressure in this layer is very low. Thermosphere is the layer which follows the mesosphere.The absorption of x-rays and UV radiation from the sun occurs in this layer. High temperature is the characteristic feature of this layer. Satellites orbiting earth within this layer is the characteristic feature of this layer. So, as the stratosphere is not the only layer that grips the sun’s radiation and thermosphere is also involved in absorption, the answer is FALSE.
