Three different ways in which seeds can be transported from one location to another are;
1. Through wind – Seeds such as sycamore and dandelions have wings and fruits that can be easily blown about and carried over distances by winds.
2. Through water – Some seeds that float in water are carried by water from one location to another. An example is the fruit of original coconut palms on South Sea Islands which were transported there from the mainland by ocean currents.
3. Through explosions - Some plants such as peas and laburnum disperse their own seeds. Their pods become dry and split open suddenly with a large force which throws their seeds to another location.
