Compare sacred places in buddhism to those in islam. what do they have in common?

Buddhists and Islam commonly construct their sacred places in their own homes. Buddhists build shrines in their own homes for personal worship, meditation, and offerings for Buddha.  A mosque, the Islam place of worship is any place devoted to prayer. It could be a house, or an open area of ground that was considered sacred.

The most important pilgrimage site is in Indus-Ganga Plain, where Gautama Buddha lived and taught. He himself identified four main pilgrimage sites and all of these places are related to Buddha's life and work. They are Bodh Gaya, Lumbini, Sarnath, Kusinagara, and Buddha realized his first enlightenment, was born, delivered his first teaching and died respectively in these places. Additionally, four other places can also be added to this list, where Buddha performed certain miracles.

The two holiest sites in Islam are Mecca, where Muhammad was born and had his first revelation and Medina, where Muhammad migrated to this place with his followers known as Hijra.

The similarities between the sacred places of Buddhists and Muslim people is that the places are located where the prophets lived and practiced the religions.
