The formula for Countif function is =countif(range,criteria). Suppose, we have 7 number of people working with Dean and they attended different training during the period. We will first make a table on Excel stating names and training of the employees.  We will now apply the formula by selecting the whole table when entering range and writing “Leadership Training” when entering criteria. The answer to this will be 3 as 3 people have received leadership training. Make sure to enter the text/criteria here in inverted commas.
