Mrs. ahern called a repair person to fix her air conditioner, which had broken
during a heat wave. the repairs came to $762. although the first repair person
who responded to her call worked on the air conditioner, the air conditioner still
did not work when he left. a second repair person was called. the problem had
been the same all along (a freon leak) and the first repair person did not fix it.
the second bill was for $72. mrs. ahern sued the first repair person for the
money he charged her less the cost of the second repair. the repair person
claimed that he did some work and that the court was not entitled to look at the
adequacy of the consideration. what do you think?
