The manager of the main laboratory facility at Elmhurst HealthElmhurst Health Center is interested in being able to predict the overhead costs each month for the lab. The manager believes that total overhead varies with the number of lab tests performed but that some costs remain the same each month regardless of the number of lab tests performed. The lab manager collected the following data for the first seven months of the year.

Requirements

1.

Determine the lab's cost equation (use the output from the Excel regression).

2.

Determine the R-square (use the output from the Excelregression).

3.

Predict the total laboratory overhead for the month if 3,100 tests are performed

Anew firm is developing its business plan. it will require $615,000 of assets, and it projects $450,000 of sales and $355,000 of operating costs for the first year. management is reasonably sure of these numbers because of contracts with its customers and suppliers. it can borrow at a rate of 7.5%, but the bank requires it to have a tie of at least 4.0, and if the tie falls below this level the bank will call in the loan and the firm will go bankrupt. what is the maximum debt ratio the firm can use? (hint: find the maximum dollars of interest, then the debt that produces that interest, and then the related debt ratio.)a. 41.94%b. 44.15%c. 46.47%d. 48.92%e. 51.49%

You work as the sales manager for a company that sells office supplies to businesses of all sizes. because the profit margins are razor-thin, you need to ensure that you are getting the very best prices on paper, pencils, pens, post-it notes, and other office supplies from the manufacturers. when reviewing the quarterly profit statement, you realize that your costs are higher than they should be, and you trace the higher costs back to an employee who has been lax about getting competitive bids to ensure the lowest prices. when you conduct your research to determine the reason for the higher costs, and take action to bring those costs back down, in which of the key management processes are you taking part?
