The short and long term significance of the mcnary-haugen bill and the boulder canyon project was that the plan was to relieve American agriculture by raising prices of all farm products. Although this was for the government to buy wheat but it would negatively affect farmers, so Coolidge went ahead to vetoed the bill.

The Boulder Canyon Project was to effectively construct a dam and provide hydroelectric power as well as to provide flood control which is why The dam which is also known as the Hoover dam, helps to provided lots of scientific information needed.

The bill is a disputed plan established to subsidize American agriculture through raising the prices of domestic farm products. The plan was made for the government to buy wheat, store it or export it at loss.The boulder-canyon project supported employment and livelihood.

The bill insisted on the creation of a federal agency to support and protect domestic farm prices by making efforts to maintain price levels that existed in 1910-1914.

The federal government would make losses while purchasing surpluses and exporting them overseas. That losses would be paid for through fees against farm producers.

The bill and other plans of the government such as implemented price and wage control  stayed afloat due to instability in the agricultural marketplace in the mid-1920s.

The Boulder Canyon Project Act of 1928 authorized construction of a dam in Boulder, or Black, Canyon. The All-American Canal was constructed that connects the Imperial and Coachella Valleys with the Colorado River along with dividing the lower basin waters among the lower basin states.

Also construction of the dam provided employment to many migrants during the Great Depression.
