Self-employment has several disadvantages, but also many advantages. Here are 6 examples of some disadvantages of self-employment. 

- If you run your business from home you will need to use a room of your house to conduct business. This can be pricey and a waste of space.

- Your business will have to pay more taxes than the average employee in an 'actual job'. This can be hard combined with the price of running your business and you probably won't even start making big profit until a couple of months to a few years.

- You will also miss out on paid days off. This as you can imagine, would be extremely stressful. There are little to no breaks.

- Multitasking all the time. You will be worked and worked and worked. You will have to do several things on your own at a time. This is extremely stressful and very tiring.

- Unsteady paychecks are another big disadvantage. One month you could make 30k and the next make 3k. Its unpredictable, theres no way of knowing how much money you will make. This could make you poor, in debt, and even bankrupt.

- Distractions. Distractions, disctractions, distractions... You will be tempted to watch TV for a couple hours or whatever else entertains you. Many people struggle with even doing homework instead of watching TV. Could you imagine trying to do tons of stressful work everyday without giving into the temptation of a few hour break which could cost you thousands?
