Read the case Marc's Juicy Lucy that is available in the link below. There are really two types of growth methods for a quick service restaurant, either company-owned stores or franchising. Describe the benefits and drawbacks of each of these methods of business expansion. Which of these methods do you think Marc's Juicy Lucy should use in growing its business and why? Remember that the type of ownership is not important. Family owned businesses can franchise (for example, Chick-fil-a) and corporate owners can have only company stores (for example, Chipotle). So don't get bogged down with the type of ownership of the firm, focus on the advantage and disadvantages of only the method of growth. Make sure that you respond to at least two of your classmates initial posts. These responses should be probing for more information, asking questions about their assumptions, providing your assessment of their answer.

while setting up his new office, an attorney ordered thick, frieze carpets for the floor. however, the building inspector had him remove the expensive carpeting. the building inspector stated that according to federal regulations, the office must be wheelchair accessible as it is a public area. he further explained that since wheelchairs do not maneuver well in thick, frieze carpeting, the carpets had to be removed and be replaced with smooth-textured carpets that do not restrict wheelchair maneuverability. this scenario illustrates how a company is influenced by the component of its specific environment.
