Psychology can be defined as the scientific study of both the consciousness and unconsciousness of the human mind such as feelings, emotions and thoughts, so as to understand how it functions and affect human behaviors in contextual terms.

This ultimately implies that, psychology focuses on studying behaviors and the mind that controls it.

The Johari window is a model that was developed in 1955 by Joseph Luft (1916 - 2014) and Harry Ingham (1916 - 1995), two American psychologists.

The name "Johari" was coined by joining the first names of the two American psychologists i.e JOseph and HARry.

Basically, this model was created by the duos to illustrate the process of giving feedback in team development. It enhances the perception of a member of a team on the other team members. Thus, an individual can reveal himself or herself to gain trust from others and then use the feedback to evaluate himself or herself.

In the Johari window model, each individual is represented by four (4) window pane or quadrant depicting feelings, personal information, motivation and known or unknown informations.
