Sometimes ago, I had a disagreement with my manager about the best method to assist a customer who was having difficulty using one of our company's products.

b. My actions

I order not argue with him in front other people that were there, I requested a private meeting in his office. I suggested a point of being transparent and honest about the method I believe we could employ to manage the problem more effectively.

c. Outcome

Due to the way I presented my suggestion in a respectful manner without challenging his authority, my boss agreed. We then chose to go ahead and employ the method I suggested. Our consumer was satisfied, and we were able to build a stronger relationship.
