Latent heat and room temperature are different things

Latent heat is the heat which is required to convert a solid into a liquid or vapor, or a liquid into a vapor, without change of temperature. It simply means that changing the state of matter from solid to liquid or liquid to gas. So we can say that the heat required to break the inter molecular forces of a compound to change its state of matter is called the latent heat.
