Hybridization may be defined as the phenomena of the mixing or hybridizing the different molecules.  DNA hybridization is making the hybrid by combining two different DNA strands.

Only single stranded DNA undergoes the process of hybridization. The DNA can bind with the complementary probe. Probes are the small oligonucleotides that are radioactively labelled during the experiment. During DNA hybridization the DNA combines with the complementary probe by making the bonds.
