Two ponds are connected and fed by a single stream flowing throughthem. Pond A holds 500,000 gallons of water, whilepond B holds 200,000 gallons of water. Thefresh water stream flows through these ponds at a rate of1000 gal/hr. Assume at some time, sat t = 0, that 1000 lb of toxinis spilled into Pond A and that is dispersesrapidly enough so that a well-stirred assumption is reasonable. Find the amount of x(t) of toxin in pond A attime t.

Find the amount of y(t) of toxin in pond B attime t.

What is the maximum amount of toxin ever present in Pond ?

Thanks!
