Given the following data for the hydrate M(NO3)3 dot X H2O, where M is a metal with the atomic mass 35.57 g/mol, Mass of Crucible and Lid 34.9126 Mass of Crucible, Lid and Hydrate 39.5907 Mass of Crucible, Lid and Anhydrous Salt (3rd Heating) 37.1499 How many molecules of water are in one formula unit of the hydrate? In other words what is the value of X? X should be a whole number, so choose the percentage of water for the hydrate that is closest to the percentage of water calculated for this experiment. HINT: X is between 6 and 18.

Liquid ammonia is produced at high temperatures and under great pressure in a tank by passing a mixture of nitrogen gas and hydrogen gas over an iron catalyst. the reaction is represented by the following equation. n2(g) + 3h2(g) → 2nh3(g) changing all but one experimental condition will affect the amount of ammonia produced. that condition is a) increasing the concentration of both reactants b) changing the temperature within the tank c) decreasing the pressure within the tank. d) increasing only the amount of nitrogen present.
