A vertical cylinder is divided into two parts by a movable piston of mass m. The piston and cylinder system is well insulated (that is, no heat can flow in or out of the system) and the piston is initially held at rest. The top part of the cylinder is evacuated and the bottom part is filled with a diatomic ideal gas at temperature 319 K. After the piston is released and the system comes to equilibrium, the volume occupied by gas is halved. Find the final temperature of the gas.

100 grams of molten lead (600°c) is used to make musket balls. if the lead shot is allowed to cool to room temperature (21°c), what is the change in entropy (in j/k) of the lead? (for the specific heat of molten and solid lead use 1.29 j/g⋅°c; the latent heat of fusion and the melting point of lead are 2.45 × 104 j/kg and 327°c, respectively.)
