In casting metal alloys, would you expect columnar or equiaxed dendritic formation to occur if the mold were agitated (vibrated) aggressively after the molten metal had been in the mold for a sufficient period of time to form a skin?

The part would cool more quickly because the vibration would induce convection within the metal that would increase heat transfer and would induce convection at the mold exterior/atmosphere interfere.
Dendrite formation would be reduced as the agitation would continuously break them up as them formed in the slushy phase.
