Roxanne was asked by her teacher to explain why sodium ions (Na) and chlorine ions (CI) combine into sodium chloride (NaCl).
Roxanne said it was because chlorine is highly electronegative and sodium has a low ionization energy. What else could she
include in her explanation?
Tons with opposite charges are electrically attracted to each other
A one-to-one ratio of Na and ci'is electrically neutral
