Knowing that the reaction of potassium in water is extremely exothermic, what would be the problem with adding a large piece of potassium to a small amount of water?
a. With a small amount of water and a large piece of potassium the reaction can be so exothermic it can explode out of the water, shatter the beaker or catch the reaction fire.
b. With a small amount of water and a large piece of potassium the reaction can dissolve the potassium and create a basic solution.
c. With a small amount of water and a large piece of potassium the reaction can consume so much water that it swells in size and can take over the size of the beaker.
