As soon as you hear that there is a hurricane coming your way, there are a few thing you need to do to stay safe. In order to keep yourself and others from getting hurt, what you need to do is stay indoors and away from windows and glass doors.Close all interior doors and also secure and brace external doors.
Make sure to keep curtains and blinds closed, and to take refuge in a small interior room, closet, or hallway on the lowest level. Lay down on the floor under a table or another sturdy object, as well as making sure you have what you need like food, water, a light source etc. and remember not to panic
