The nucleus of an atom is made up of positively charged protons and neutrally charged neutrons. The nucleus determines which element an atom is, based on the number of protons. For example, only Oxygen has 8 protons, Carbon has 6 protons, etc. The nucleus is about 1/100,000 of the size if the whole atom.

metals are good conductor of electricity. it has free electrons on their surface. according to electron pool theory, each atom present in a metal crystal losses all of its valence electron and as a result a pool of free is form. these pool of electrons are free to move and   conduct electricity easily   while making metal as good conductor.
