Hydrogen peroxide (H2O2), decomposes to form water and oxygen. The balanced chemical
equation for this reaction is shown below.
H2O2 (aq)
H20 ( + O2(g)
AH = - 189 kJ
EA = 75 kJ.
Use the information to complete the energy diagram for the decomposition of hydrogen
peroxide where x is the maximum energy and y is the minimum energy.
On the set of axes provided, complete the energy diagram and clearly label the activation
energy (EA) of the reaction and the change in heat of the reaction (AH).
