In an exothermic reaction, the energy stored in the chemical bonds of the reactants is: (A) less than the energy stored in the bonds of the products.
(B) equal to the total amount of energy released.
(C) equal to the energy stored in the bonds of the products.
(D) greater than the energy stored in the bonds of the products.
My teacher said that it was A because of the formula to calculate bond enthalpies. However, when I search up this problem, everyone says that D is right. Which one is it?
