How do petrified fossilization differ from carbonized fossils? Petrified fossils do not need carbon to be fossilized.
Petrified fossils are only made in desert type environment.
Petrified fossils need a lot of carbon in order to be come a fossil.
Petrified fossils dissolve all original parts including carbon.
