Single displacement (replacement) is kind of reaction in which 1 atom of reactants only change in product.

Single displacement reaction is a chemical reaction in which a more reactive element displaces the less reactive element from it's compound.

for example :

CuSo4 + Zn = ZnSo4 + Cu

here we can see that zinc which is more reactive than copper displaces copper from it's compound copper sulphate and forms zinc sulphate.
