A sheet of shiny metallic orange-colored copper (density 8.96 g/cm3) was electroplated with metallic silver-colored zinc (density 7.14 g/cm3). The resulting multi layered material which was copper colored on the inside and silver colored on the outside was then exposed to high heat. The material became a uniform bright gold color throughout and had a density of 8.55 g/cm3. The new material conducted electricity and was malleable. Was an alloy formed
