Quinn and Quade had to make a model of the Earth's four main layers using items from around their house. They did not
have to include the lithosphere in their project. The layers had
to accurately represent the density of each layer in relation to
each other. They gathered several items from around the
house. The materials are listed below.
Items gathered:
small bouncy ball, marble ball, tennis ball, small iron ball, large
iron ball, slime, thin styrofoam sheet, styrofoam ball,
cardboard, clay, play-dough, icing.
Choose from the list of materials to create a model of the Earth
that represents the density of each layer. Identify what each
item would represent in your model and explain why you chose
them.
