To the unknown mixture, 3 drops of 6 M HCl was added and a precipitate formed. The mixture was centrifuged to isolate the precipitate and the liquid was kept for further testing. To the liquid, 3 drops of 0.10M (NH4)2SO4 was added and a precipitate formed. The precipitate was centrifuged and liquid was further tested by making it basic and adding a few drops of (NH4)2C2O4. But no precipitate formed. To the liquid that was left, a Mg2 test was done but no blue jelly-like precipitate formed. To the precipitate that formed from the addition of HCl (first step stated above), DI water was added and the precipitate was heated in a water bath for 5 minutes. After which, the precipitate dissolved completely. To the liquid that remained a few drops of K2CrO4 was added and a yellow precipitate formed. To the unknown, a flame test was performed and the color emitted was a light purple-red. What ions are in the unknown
