Aglass object receives a positive charge by rubbing it with a silk cloth. in the rubbing process, have protons been added to the object or have electrons been removed from it?

Electrons are the only thing that can freely move from one object to another object. By rubbing the silk cloth on the glass, since the net charge becomes positive, that means that electrons were removed. So answer is : electrons removed.

the catch is that the top numbers are atomic masses the bottom numbers are the numbers of protons and electrons in an uncharged atom. they are the number of that atoms as you would find them on the periodic table. further, the numbers on the left are used to determine the missing numbers on the right
